Last two practices this week...

Hello Players!
Our last two practices will take place this week. We will meet today, May 6th and Thursday, May 8th. I realize these are also the same dates as the Orchestra and Band Concerts. This week's practices will not be mandatory as we just finished our last tennis match for the season, so if any players need to miss or leave early to prepare for the concerts, feel free to do so. Other than that, I can't wait to see you all at practice! Have a great week Saints!

Great Job Saints!

I haven't gotten the chance to review scores yet, but our players had a great match with Big Lake on Thursday. For many of our players, this was their first experience with match play, and they did a great job! All students got to play a minimum of 3 matches, and played both singles and doubles. Thank you players for your hard work, and thank you parents for coming out and supporting. I have included a few pictures from the match on Thursday. They can be found in the Photos Section. Feel free to share any pictures that you took, and please send them to the school office by Wednesday, May 7th so that they may be included on the Sports Banquet video. See you tomorrow at practice Saints!

Match Today!

Our second match of the season will include all players in the Middle School Tennis Program. Please meet at the courts at our normal practice time (4:00 p.m.) wearing your St. Ann's Tennis Shirt is you have one. We will match up against surrounding area players. Our goal is to try and get you as much match play as possible. The event should wrap up around 6:30 p.m., however if you need to leave sooner, just let me know so that we do not start you on a match that might conflict. Look forward to seeing you all there! Please remember to bring a fresh can of tennis balls if you are able to. Go Saints!

Way to Go Saints!

Our 7th and 8th Grade Players had a great match against Alamo Junior High yesterday at the Bush Tennis Center! Players got to participate in singles and doubles matches and did a wonderful job! After recording all the match results, the Saints came out with 12 victories and 10 losses. Way to Go Saints! Be sure the check the new "Photos" Tab for a few pictures from yesterday's play. Parents, if you took any pictures, please feel free to send them to the school office by Wednesday, May 7th for the Sports Banquet Video.

Events This Week

Hello Players! I am so excited to see everyone at practice today. I just wanted to post a few updates on what to expect for the week:

  • Practice will resume today from 4:00 - 5:30.
  • Tennis T-Shirts should be in today. I will hopefully be able to bring them to practice today if they are delivered in time for those who ordered one.
  • 8th grade players and returning 7th grade players have a dual match tomorrow at Bush Tennis Center against Alamo Junior High. As far as I know, only one player will be unable to attend. If for any reason you will not be able to attend tomorrow, I need to know as soon as possible. Please arrive at the facility at 4:20. Our tennis uniforms will consist of your St. Ann's Tennis Shirt and any shorts.
  • Thursday, Luis Valdez and I have set up a dual match against area players instead of our practice. This will include ALL St. Ann's Players. It will be a low key match and students will be placed with players of similar ability. It should be a fun event and parents are encouraged to come watch and cheer on the Saints! Team uniforms will be our St. Ann's Tennis Shirts and shorts. If for some reason you will not be here on Thursday, please let me know as soon as possible so Luis and I can plan accordingly.

I believe that is all for now, but please keep checking the website for any updates this week. Look forward to seeing you all! Have a great day!

Oh, and don't forget 8th grade players and returning 7th grade players, we have a dual match against Alamo Junior High on Wendesday April 30th. Have a great week everyone!

Hello Players and Families,
Due to the weather conditions, we have decided to reschedule today's dual match. The 8th Grade and returning 7th Grade players will play on April 30th against Alamo Junior High at the Bush Tennis Center. As of now, we will still meet for practice tomorrow, but please check back here tomorrow in case of any changes. Hope to see you on the courts tomorrow!

Practice and Match Updates

Hello Players!
I just wanted to make you aware of a few updates in our program.

The 8th grade players have been invited to play a dual match against the Alamo Junior High Scouts on Monday, April 21st at 4:30 at the Bush Tennis Center. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to play on that day so we can make arrangements for the match. All other players are more than welcome to come support and cheer on your teammates.

A team dual match has been added to the schedule on May 8th, our last day of the tennis program. By that day, all beginners should know how to keep score and play out games. Each player will get to play one singles and one doubles match. You will be matched based on your ability. It should be a fun event and a good way to wrap up our season!

Practices on the days of April 22nd and April 24th will be cancelled. I will be attending the National Catholic Educational Association Conference in Pittsburgh. We will resume practices on April 28th.

Finally, I just wanted to praise you all for your hard work and great attitudes on the court. You've been awesome to work with! Keep up the great work. See you at practice!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Owen

April 8th Practice

Just a reminder to all players to plan to meet in front of the Bush Tennis Center tomorrow instead of our courts. The District 5-A Tournament should be finishing up and we will proceed to practice as soon as all courts are cleared. Tomorrow's practice is not mandatory. Also, I will be placing t-shirt orders tomorrow. Please make sure you get your forms in to me if you are planning on ordering shirts.

REMINDER: No Practice Today

Just a reminder: Tennis Practice is cancelled today, April 3rd due to the beginning of the Middle School Retreat (and a very windy forecast). I will see you on Tuesday. Have a great time at the retreat! I will be thinking of and praying for you all!
